SANDBURG 42mm Carbon 2 Tone Steel
The Sandburg takes its name from Carl Sandburg, who gave the city its most famous poem. It's a dress watch with a diver's hardware: a screw-down crown, and a one-direction bezel with an aluminum insert that clicks as it turns.
Carbon is the black dial, matte rather than glossy, with the lume plots reading clean against it. In two-tone steel, with gold accents.
Forty-two millimeters and 12mm through the case, on a Swiss Made Ronda quartz movement under a sapphire crystal, rated to 5 ATM. It ships with an integrated steel bracelet and an Italian leather strap lined with rubber, both quick-release, and the caseback is fully engravable.

I purchased this Hamden after a lengthy "non-watch" conversation with staff at Windup/SF. Their dismeanor and friendliness made me closer attention to a piece i might have overlooked because I assumed it was out of my budget. Not only was it within budget we worked together to recreate the civil war inscription on their historic pocket watch on the watch. They agreed it was a wonderful idea and took their time to be as accurate as possible. Happy to say the watch and inscription exceeded my expectations and it arrived just in time for me to wear it with honor during our Juneteenth celebration. This watch is for my son who is retiring from the Navy.
This is the only watch I could find that had a large space for engraving on the caseback. Crystal suggested another option on the engraving that looked much better than the standard engraving. Packaged very well for shipping. Short delivery time. Very pleased with the purchase.

Ordered the watch for my son as a graduation gift. I was very interested in the engraving to commemorate the occasion.. I sent in what I wanted and received an unexpected call from Crystal in customer service. She proceeded to blow my mind with info and ideas for what we could do to make it better (What?! Who does that nowadays?!) We talked for a bit and agreed on a plan, she then sent me pictures of three different options. She even found a way to include the motif from the school seal into the design. To top it off, none of this cost any extra! (Once again, who does that?!) Received the watch and it was beautiful. Everything we hoped for and more. I’m just trying to think what I wanted on mine, cause I’m next!!
