Non-personalized watches: Ship within 5–7 business days.
Personalized watches or engraved casebacks: Ship within 3 weeks, due to design consultation and engraving.
For urgent needs, Hampden can accommodate rush orders—reach out to us early.
Please note there may be shipping delays beyond our control. Due to the custom nature of our personalized case backs, we do not allow refunds due to shipping delays.
We accept returns only for unworn and non-personalized watches within 2 weeks of receipt. Due to the custom nature of personalized case backs we do not offer refunds or exchanges. If there was a mistake with the final piece you received, please get in touch with us within the first 30 days after shipping so we can make it right.
Please contact us within 24 hours if you need to request a change or cancellation. Orders with case back personalization are processed immediately, but in some cases, we can catch or cancel an order if it is within the first 24 hours. Please reach out to us as soon as possible and we will make every effort to change/cancel an order within 24 hours.
All Hampden watches are shipped in a beautiful, navy, and textured box perfect for gifting. We include a packing slip, not an invoice with your order.

Mechanical Movement
Turn crown forward and follow the power reserve indicator on your dial. Wind until MAX. Between 10 and 20 turns.
It is important to not continue turning when the movement is fully wound up. When your power reserve indicator is at its maximum stop turning.
We recommend servicing your mechanical watch every 3–5 years to maintain peak performance. A professional service includes a full cleaning, lubrication, and movement regulation to ensure long-term reliability.
Watch
The casecap is a patented Hampden innovation exclusive to our Sullivan model. It's a removable cap that sits on top of the caseback, allowing you to engrave a design, quote, date, or even a sketch - and change it in the future. It’s ideal for milestone moments or evolving personal messages. Think of it as storytelling in steel. It gives you the flexibility to wear your watch showing the exhibition caseback, or wear it with the personalized casecap.
Water resistance in a watch protects your watch against humidity. Which means it can endure water splashes but you cannot swim with your watch.
The Hampden Sullivan is water resistant up to 50 meters which means it can withstand water in shallow depths. As a precaution always make sure your crown is screwed in, water can get into your watch if your crown is pulled out.
All Hampden watches are made from 316L surgical stainless steel. It has a better resistance to corrosion. It is suitable for people with metal allergies and it is non-magnetic.
Sapphire crystal is synthetic sapphire which means it has a hardness of 9/10 on the Mohs hardness scale, second to diamond. This means your crystal is scratch resistant, virtually scratchproof (do watch out for diamonds and silicon carbide).
Lumi or lume stands for luminescence which is the emission of light after sufficient activation or absorption of sunlight and or artificial light. In the past lume on watch dials were painted with highly toxic Radium which has a very distinct green glow in the dark quality. This is no longer the case, Super-LumiNova is a brand name which produces non-radioactive and nontoxic phosphorescent or afterglow pigments for the watch industry. Super-LumiNova is of the highest quality, it does not age and can produce light in the dark again and again. You simply have to activate the pigments on your watch dial with sunlight or artificial light and when you step into the dark they will glow!
Watch Case & Crystal:
Do not soak the case in water. Instead, wipe it with a damp or dry microfiber cloth. For the crystal, you can use a standard glass or lens cleaner.
Metal Bracelet:
Remove the bracelet before cleaning. Soak it briefly in warm, soapy water (a mild dish soap works well). Use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub between the links. Rinse thoroughly, then dry with a microfiber cloth or let air dry.
Leather Strap:
We don’t recommend cleaning your leather strap unless necessary. If needed, gently wipe it down with a dry microfiber cloth. For tougher spots, you can use a slightly damp cloth or a dry toothbrush to reach between creases. Leather conditioning products may also be used occasionally.
Silicone-Backed Leather Strap:
This strap is water-resistant and can be cleaned with warm, soapy water or a damp microfiber cloth.
Maintenance Tip:
Hampden mechanical watches should be professionally serviced every few years to ensure long-term performance and to keep both the interior and exterior in top condition.

Straps
To clean the metal bracelet, first remove it from the watch. Soak it briefly in warm, soapy water using a mild dishwashing liquid. Use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub between the links. Rinse thoroughly, then dry with a microfiber cloth or allow it to air dry completely before reattaching.
At the back of your bracelet you will see two quick releasing tabs. Pull them towards each other and the bracelet will release.
We don’t recommend cleaning your leather strap however if necessary you can use a microfiber cloth to wipe down. Do not soak and only if necessary you can use a slightly damp cloth. A dry toothbrush can also be used to gently scrub in-between small spaces. For conditioning normal leather cleaning products can also be used.
If your leather strap has a silicone back then it is fully waterproof. The calf leather on top has a waterproof coating.

Yes! We can work with your sketches or artwork only if they are not a trademarked or copyrighted logo.
We can work with your business to create engravings with their logo. We do need permission to use any trademark logos by the owner of the trademark.
