OUR INSPIRATION

Daniel Burnham's contributions to architecture and urban planning left an indelible mark on the city of Chicago. His emphasis on beauty, order, and functionality in urban design has been a huge influence in the design of our first Model in the Centennial Watch Collection.

Swiss Made

The Burnham is the first watch of the Hampden Centennial Collection, and we wanted to make it special. We could think of no better way, than to collaborate with our cousins at Marathon Watch of Canada, the second-oldest watch company in North America. Marathon’s founder Morris Wein, and our founder Hyman Wein were brothers.
Marathon agreed to assemble The Burnham in their Swiss factory in La Chaux-de-fonds. We thought it was a fitting way to honor our multi-generational family story.

The quality is exceptional and the personal message from my dad on the back is special to me.

The great 19th century Chicago architect Daniel Burnham famously advised us all to “make no little plans”. Burnham’s vision for Chicago was ambitious, audacious — and brilliant. When you walk the streets of our city, make big plans.

Matte coloured dial with sun-ray embossed second sub-dial. Index is a polished nickel Arabic applied index with white printed second track and white Super-LumiNova grade A rectangular markers. Brilliant red power reserve markers to indicate low energy. Polished nickel date frame at three o’clock.

HANDS

Polished hour and minute hands with Super-LumiNova grade A arrow tips. Polished small second hand and a deep red power reserve marker.

CROWN

Oversized stainless steel onion crown with embossed Hampden logo.

GLASS

Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Sapphire exhibition back.

BRACELET

Brushed and polished three link stainless steel bracelet with deployment clasp. Steel bracelet can easily be removed with quick release.

LEATHER STRAPS

Each watch comes with two carefully selected Italian leather straps with stainless steel buckles. Easily interchangeable with quick release.
